Celebrate Our State Forests and Parks

Connecticut’s forests and trees add immensely to our quality of life. They filter the air we breathe, safeguard private and public drinking water sources, produce locally grown forest products, provide essential habitat for wildlife, moderate summer and winter temperatures near homes and provide a colorful fall foliage. They are integral to the character of our great state and we applaud and support all those who work to preserve and enrich its natural landscape. Of note is the private, non-profit Connecticut Forest & Park Association (CFPA), established in 1895 and now the leading force behind Connecticut’s state parks and forests, hiking trails, and outdoor recreation programs.

We encourage you to learn more about forested land in our state by taking part in CFPA’s programs and special events – Family Rambles, Science Sundays, CT Trails Day and Run for the Woods to name a few. For those interested in helping on an active level, consider a Trails and Volunteer Workshop. Check it all out at www.ctwoodlands.org.
